Reflection Paper –
Gagne’s Conditioning Application
Last September 5, 7, 10, and 12, 2012,
we continue our discussion on Gagne’s theory and we divide the whole class into
groups to make a lesson plan out of Gagne’s theory, and assigned one member to
discuss the said lesson plan. Each group has specific objectives given and
presents it to the class with instructional materials. Topics that presented
were – Parts of the Speech which is adjective (English). My observation was,
the lesson presented (Adjective) is not suitable for the learning capacity of
grade 2 pupils, maybe the reporter must study further of her topic in order to comprehend
the pupils with correct usage of adjective. Next topic discuss is amphibians
(Science), the presentation is not quiet good because she is not express her
idea about the topic which is amphibians. Another two topics presented are
addition and colours and shapes; the reporter prepared instructional materials
which is attractive and comprehensive to the learner. Last topic is reading
alphabets AB & C, the reporter prepared a motivation by singing alphabets rhyme.
He prepare letters from A, B & C for his demonstration and let the pupils
read with corresponding word out from letter A which is (Apple), letter B which
is (Banana), and letter C which is (Carrot). He brought an actual illustration
out these 3 words.
I realized during that period of
actual discussion, the teachers must prepare well; the instructional materials,
study, and read the topics carefully. In order to captured the attention of the
pupils during the actual presentation. All the teaching methods must be
applied. According to Gagne’s theory, enhancing retention and transfer of
learning must applying in real-life situations is a step towards mastery and
learning
I will be creative in my own ways to
enhance the learning structures of my pupil. I will be more reflective in my
discussion. The values of patience and perseverance must also be developing
towards dealing with the children.
